Three Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall replacements Leicester could sign who won’t break the bank

Leicester City have been charged by the Premier League for breaching Profit and Sustainability regulations during the 2022/23 season.

The Foxes are at risk of breaching those rules once again this season and have until the end of the financial year (June) to raise the necessary funds.

That has led many to believe they’ll need to sell key assets in the summer transfer window in order to avoid further punishment.

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, who has been talismanic for Leicester this term, is their most valuable player (£25.7m), according to Transfermarkt.

So it seems the 25-year-old will have to be moved on, particularly as he would be a pure profit sale given he came through the academy.

With that said, Leicester City News has compiled a list of three players who could replace Dewsbury-Hall.

Leicester wanted to sign James McAtee last summer and he was even present at the club’s Seagrave training ground. But ultimately, he returned to Sheffield United on a loan deal from Manchester City.

With The Blades likely to suffer relegation this term, and City in the driving seat for an instant return to the Premier League, it means McAtee could become available again in the summer, particularly if he has a desire to remain in the top flight.

The left-footed playmaker is of a similar mould to Dewsbury-Hall and would add creativity to Enzo Maresca‘s side.

Having impressed in Arsenal’s academy, Charlie Patino joined Blackpool in the summer of 2022 on a season-long loan.

He enjoyed a productive spell at The Seasiders before linking up with Swansea for the 2023/24 campaign.

The left-footed midfielder, who turned 20 in October, has continued his development and upward trajectory in South Wales and appears ready to take the next step.

He is valued at £8.5m on Transfermarkt, though, the Gunners may be willing to sanction another loan deal.

Gabriel Sara

Acquiring the signature of Norwich City’s uber-talented midfielder Gabriel Sara would certainly require more financial means than the aforementioned two.

However, with a market value of £13.7m, he may still be an attainable player for Leicester, especially if they gain promotion.

Sara has registered double figures in goals and assists in the Championship this season, only Adam Armstrong and Dewsbury-Hall, interestingly, have managed to achieve such a feat.

The 24-year-old can operate as an attacking midfielder, a number eight or at the base, playing a deep-lying playmaker role.
