Leicester City are expected to improve their backline in the 2025 winter transfer window.
Leicester City have conceded a staggering 42 goals in 19 Premier League matches this season so far.
That’s the joint-worst defensive record in the top flight along with Wolverhampton Wanderers.
In turn, it’s not surprising to see the club being tipped to sign several defenders in January.
Leicester are targeting centre-backs this month with a number of options already named.
The Foxes have been linked with Chancel Mbemba, who would bring some Premier League experience to the club following his time at Newcastle United.
Another of Mbemba’s teammates could also be on his way to the King Power Stadium in the current window.

Marseille looking to sell Leicester City target Lilian Brassier
It emerged recently that Leicester want to sign Lilian Brassier from the French outfit but could face competition from Villarreal.
Brassier is currently on loan from Brest until the end of 2024/25 when his transfer will be made permanent but could now be set to leave Marseille this month.
French outlet L’Equipe have provided an update on the club’s plans for the January transfer window.
In which they report that a few players could leave Marseille in the winter window, most of whom are defenders.
Leicester target Brassier is named as one such option, with it claimed that a departure is now ‘the preferred solution’.

How much would Leicester City have to pay for Lilian Brassier
The report from L’Equipe does not mention a specific transfer fee for the Leicester-linked star.
However, Marseille initially signed the player on loan with an obligation to buy for around €11m (around £9m) according to Get French Football News.
Given it’s a very recent transfer, it makes sense for the Ligue 1 side to want to recoup a similar fee for the centre-back in January.
The 25-year-old has so far made 10 appearances for Marseille, operating at centre-back and left-back.
