Abdul Fatawu has been sidelined since November.
Abdul Fatawu sustained a serious knee ligament injury on international duty with Ghana and has been in rehabilitation at Leicester City’s Seagrave training ground since.
The 21-year-old wide player has been seriously missed, as Ruud van Nistelrooy doesn’t have anyone of a similar calibre to him in attack.
Jordan Ayew and Bobby De Cordova Reid have tried to cover the void left by Abdul Fatawu, but without any success, as Leicester have now failed to score in seven straight games.
Now, Fatawu has just given an update on his condition and his feelings on leaving City this summer transfer window.

Abdul Fatawu makes it clear he wants to stay at Leicester
Speaking to LeicestershireLive, Fatawu has admitted he won’t play again this season but will be back for the first day of pre-season.
“I don’t think I’ll play this season but I am not in any pain now,” the Leicester winger said. “I can make different movements with my leg and I will be ready from day one of pre-season.”
It’s a real blow for City, who are crying out for Fatawu’s pace and endeavour, but he did make it very clear that he wants to remain at the King Power Stadium next season with Van Nistelrooy.
“I’d be so happy to get the chance to play for him. He has shown so much interest in helping me as an injured player, imagine what it would be like if I can play and help the team. I can’t wait for him to develop me as a footballer.”
Fatawu would be ridiculous in the Championship
Having Fatawu in the Championship would be a real coup for Leicester, given his talent is certainly levels above.
He was one of the best wingers in the second tier last season so he could be the ticket back to the Premier League.
If he didn’t sustain such a serious injury, there’s very little chance Leicester would’ve been able to retain his signature if indeed they were to get relegated.
