Wilfred Ndidi is a wanted man, with Bayern Munich the latest side to show an interest in the midfielder.

With Ndidi’s form in seasons gone, there was always going to be uncertainty about his future at the club following relegation.

The midfielder is reportedly open to a move to a top flight club, but isn’t necessarily pushing for it.

Manager, Enzo Maresca, has remained hopeful saying that the Nigerian is a key part of his plans this season.

German outlet, kicker, has reported that the Bavarian outfit are looking at Leicester’s midfield general.

With the signing of Harry Kane, Thomas Tuchel is after defensive midfield reinforcements without breaking the bank.

As a player with just a year left on his contract, Ndidi would represent a good value for money this summer or next.

Should Leicester City sell Wilfred Ndidi?

This isn’t a straightforward yes or no for the Foxes.

The midfielder has been at the club since 2017 and has seen great success in that time.

Signed for £17 million from Genk, winning an FA Cup and achieving multiple top six finishes, he has been a success at the King Power.

He will be a top class player in the Championship with his pedigree.

No matter how good he is, with a year left on his contract, recouping some of that £17 million may be the smart option.

With a team the size of Bayern coming in, it is likely Ndidi would fancy a move to win some silverware in Germany and potentially Europe.

If a fee can be agreed, it will likely be upwards of £10 million. For a Championship side this could provide much needed transfer budget.

He wouldn’t be easy to replace, especially with so little time remaining in the window, however it would be worse letting him go on a free.

The only way he may stay for a longer period is if the Foxes gain promotion and the no.25 signs a new deal.

The money for a player out of contract may be the best option for the club as they look to return to the Premier League.
