Leicester City are set to go back to the drawing board after another attacker turns down a move to the King Power.

The Foxes’ summer has been a difficult one to keep up with, certainly when it comes to the never ending pursuit of bringing in attackers to bolster Steve Cooper‘s options.

Leicester City have been linked with several players this summer, and have been very optimistic in their approach in looking to bring players with proven European quality to the King Power Stadium.

Matias Soule looked to be an early contender to bring an extra attacking dimension to Cooper’s side, however he turned down a move to the Premier League for Italian outfit for Roma.

Elsewhere, Leicester City have also ambitiously targeted the likes of Wilfried Zaha and Yaser Asprilla, however any deal to bring in the pair now seems unlikely.

After several set-backs, the Foxes then looked to target a loan move for a Bundesliga winner, however recent updates have emerged to suggest that Leicester City have yet again been beaten to an attacking player.

Leicester City deal for Adam Hlozek ‘hijacked’ by Hoffenheim

Cooper’s side were set to bolster their options with the shrewd signing of Adam Hlozek from Bayer Leverkusen, who have just come off the back of a famous unbeaten Bundesliga winning season, in which the Czech winger played a fairly significant part.

However, the deal for Hlozek has now been ‘hijacked’ by Bundesliga side Hoffenheim, with a ‘deal almost done’ for the winger, per Fabrizio Romano on X.

Leicester City were reportedly ‘waiting for green light from player’s camp’ on a loan move with an obligation to buy, whilst the German outfit moved ahead to sign the attacker.

Leicester City’s disappointing window could be season defining

To suggest that the uncertainty surrounding attackers at the club has been an inconvenience to Steve Cooper’s plans would be a massive understatement to say the least.

Whatever chances that Cooper had of keeping Leicester City in the Premier League appear to get thinner as the transfer window goes on, and that is without a ball being kicked in the 2024/25 campaign.

Optimism at the club is at a new low as Leicester City miss out on another player, and there would be no surprise in this trend to continue taking place, as it is more than just bad luck, or coincidence at this point.

The first few weeks were interesting in seeing Leicester City target high-profile players, but now they must either change up their approach in targeting more attainable attackers, or alternatively change up their approach in finalising deals, as there have been too many instances of the Foxes losing out already at this point in the season.
