Leicester City midfielder Hamza Choudhury could yet depart the King Power stadium before the deadline.
Hamza Choudhury is one of several Leicester players who hasn’t played as much as he would have liked since Enzo Maresca arrived at the club.
Despite signing a contract extension till the summer of 2027 in September, the 26-year-old has only made eight starts in the Championship, two of which have come in his last three matches.
Maresca has favoured a midfield trio of Harry Winks, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall and Wilfred Ndidi, but the injury to Ndidi and Cesare Casadei returning to Chelsea has given Choudhury more opportunities to play.
Those opportunities could be scuppered by the imminent arrival of Stefano Sensi from Inter Milan, further restricting his game time.
HITC Journalist Graeme Bailey has now exclusively told Leicester City News that there are a few clubs interested in the destructive midfielder.

There is interest in Leicester’s Hamza Choudhury
Bailey has revealed that although clubs are interested in Choudhury, the Foxes aren’t in a rush to move him on so close to the deadline.
He said: “Hamza Choudhury is an interesting one. I’m hearing a few are interested in him. So I’d keep an eye on him maybe in the last week, but I don’t think they’re desperate to move him on.”
Southampton were reportedly one of the clubs looking at Choudhury in the summer after he spent last season on loan at Watford.
Leicester never sanctioned an exit for the midfielder, who instead extended his stay at the King Power three months later, and now the Foxes are tussling with the Saints at the top of the Championship.
Should Leicester City sell Choudhury?
In most Championship sides, Choudhury plays week in and week out at the base of midfield.
Unfortunately, the Englishman has Winks to compete with in that position and he’s arguably the best deep-lying playmaker in the second tier.
Meanwhile, the imminent arrival of Sensi and Ndidi’s return to action will only restrict his game time, further heightening speculation over his future.
Until the above two players are ready for selection, Maresca is particularly short in the engine room and that is why he’s unlikely to depart in this window.
And while he’s the only Leicester player to have featured for 180 minutes across their last two matches, he’ll likely depart in the summer if promotion to the Premier League is secured.
Choudhury is great at Championship level but has proven on several occasions that the top flight is above his pay grade, which is why he was loaned out to Watford last season.
