Leicester City are one of many teams looking to sign 19-year old Dylan Sloan from Larne FC in Northern Ireland.
After a record-breaking start, Leicester City are still looking to improve in January for the present and the future.
Despite having a raft of talent at their disposal, there is always room for improvement. New signings have the chance to provide that.
With all that being said Northern Irish talent, Sloan is being linked to Enzo Maresca’s men in recent reports.
Who is Dylan Sloan?
Sloan came through the academy of Larne before becoming a first-team option at the age of just 17.
Despite making his debut in 2021, he went on loan in the following season. He also spent some of last season with Newry City.
This campaign has seen his breakout as he has made 17 appearances across various competitions. In his 12 league games, he has two goals and an assist at 19-years old.
He plays as a box-to-box midfielder and as a result, getting amongst the goals isn’t his main objective.
His club form has been recognised internationally as he has made five appearances for the Northern Ireland under-19s.
With his club form, there are murmurs suggesting that he may be close to receiving a call-up to the senior national side.
Should Leicester City sign him?
Given his age and experience, Sloan wouldn’t be involved in the Foxes’ first team straight away.
With that being said, Maresca has shown this season that he isn’t afraid to give youth a chance if it is warranted.
Kasey McAteer and Wanya Marcal have both played their part this season and are going to show that the chance is there.

With the hype that surrounds Sloan, this could be a clever signing that is relatively risk-free. With Everton and Stoke City also interested, he must have something.
Given some time in the youth set-up or out on loan lower in the EFL, he could become a first-team prospect soon.
If a fee can be agreed upon that suits all parties then this one is a no-brainer it seems.
