Leicester City have been given some good news in their pursuit of a central defender this winter.
Ruud van Nistelrooy has been targeting defensive options for Leicester ahead of the January transfer window.
Conceding goals has been a problem for the Foxes this season, with Robert Huth revealing the crazy stat that Leicester had conceded 14 goals in their last five games.
With the European market proving to be as competitive as ever, Leicester may look at other continents to land a bargain deal and one South American star linked with a move to the King Power Stadium has opened the door to a move to the Premier League.

Leicester-linked £8m star wants European move
Reports have suggested that Leicester are on the clubs targeting Valentin Gomez in January.
Gomez is a 21-year-old defender playing for Velez Sarsfield in Argentina and has recently won the league, as well as reach the final of both domestic cup competitions.
Plenty of European clubs are interested in the centre-back’s services however the Premier League is an attractive proposition and Gomez admitted that the next step is a move away from his homeland.
Gomez told TyC Sports: “First I’m going to go on vacation, I think I deserve it. I played a lot of games during the year.
“Then I’ll see what decision I make for my future. The reality is that I’d like to continue growing in European football and see if that’s a possibility, if any club is willing to come and get me.”
Every Argentine to play for Leicester City
If Gomez was to make the move to the East Midlands then he would join a list of talented countrymen who have hailed from Argentina to play for the Foxes.
Currently, Leicester have one among their ranks in Facundo Buonanotte, who is the third Argentine to play for the club.
Esteban Cambiasso and Leonardo Ulloa are both fan favourites, with Ulloa playing huge role in the 2015/16 title-winning season.

Cambiasso meanwhile spent one season with Leicester and helped guide them to an incredible run that saw them secure their top flight service.
History could therefore repeat itself and Gomez could help save Leicester’s season.
