With the January transfer window heating up, Leicester City are looking to do further business in the coming weeks.
It’s been an incredibly difficult period for Ruud van Nistelrooy, whose job at Leicester is safe despite recording six straight Premier League defeats.
The barren run without a win has seen the Foxes drop down to 19th ahead of their clash against Fulham, with the desperation for three points there for all to see.
Leicester have also struggled to score goals during this run, having found the net just twice in their previous six league matches.
Van Nistelrooy is normally reliant on Jamie Vardy but he’s gone five games without a goal, highlighting the need to sign a forward player this month.

Leicester City join West Ham in race to sign Andre Silva on loan
According to The Sun, Leicester have joined West Ham in the hunt to sign RB Leipzig striker Andre Silva, who is available on loan having made just eight Bundesliga appearances this term.
The 29-year-old has found the net just once in those games but admittedly, none of those matches have been starts and he’s accumulated just 124 minutes from the bench.
The 53-cap Portugal international has found himself low down the pecking order at Leipzig, with manager Marco Rose preferring to start the dynamite duo of Lois Openda and Benjamin Sesko.
As a result, the report claims Silva is ‘keen on a move to the Premier League’, and that stance will leave many fans divided.
While the Portuguese forward has notched 149 career goals for the likes of Porto, Sevilla and AC Milan among others, he’s not reached double figures in a single campaign since hitting 11 for Leipzig in 2021/22.
Andre Silva’s career history
437 games
149 goals
56 assists
With almost a goal involvement every two games across his professional career, Silva has been a proficient forward in the past and perhaps Van Nistelrooy’s expertise could see him flourish once more.
Brendan Rodgers wanted to sign Andre Silva in 2019
Supporters will feel a sense of Deja Vu regarding Silva links, as according to Spanish outlet El Desmarque, Brendan Rodgers wanted to sign the forward for Leicester in 2019.
AC Milan were willing to offload him after a loan spell at Sevilla with clubs such as Wolves, Barcelona, Marseille and Monaco all interested.
Sadly, it was Bundesliga side Eintracht Frankfurt who won the race to sign the Portugal international last summer, and he became a goal-scoring machine in Germany.
Silva produced an eye-watering 45 goals and 15 assists in 71 appearances for Frankfurt before Leipzig signed him in 2021.
Should the talented striker recapture the above form, he could prove to be a bargain loan capture for Leicester, who are in desperate need of goals.
