Leicester City’s transfer plans appear to be underway behind the scenes.
Whilst Enzo Maresca‘s side fight for Championship promotion, it seems Leicester chiefs are plotting their summer signings ahead of the transfer window reopening
The Foxes looked well-placed to book an instant return to the Premier League, as they sit at the summit of the table, two points clear of second-placed Ipswich and four above Leeds United, who occupy third.
Two wins from their remaining three games will be enough to mathematically secure a top-two finish and they could seal it on Tuesday if Leeds suffer defeat to Middlesbrough this evening.
It seems Leicester already have a transfer target in mind if they are to gain promotion.
Leicester City linked with signing James McAtee

James McAtee is a player Maresca tried to sign last summer and he even travelled to Seagrave just before the transfer deadline, according to LeicestershireLive.
McAtee, who is contracted to Manchester City, ultimately returned to Sheffield United on loan, having enjoyed a successful season there during the 2022/23 promotion campaign.
Though, it seems he may become available again in the summer, as The Blades look set to suffer relegation back to the second tier.
Leicester have reignited their interest in McAtee, according to Alan Nixon, and should they go up, they’ll have a good chance of finally securing his signature.
Pep Guardiola a big fan of James McAtee
If City are able to pull off the deal, McAtee would be a phenomenal addition.
Pep Guardiola is a big fan of the left-footed playmaker and speaking after handing him his Premier League debut, the Manchester City boss said: “It is an incredible investment for the club and the future. Very pleased and with the few minutes James McAtee played as well.”
He continued: “All of us we believe, we have a good generation of four, five or six players with quite a good potential to help us.”
Since those comments in 2021, McAtee has polished his skillset at Bramall Lane and has looked every inch of a top-flight player in a struggling side this season that sit at the foot of the league.
The 2002-born has registered a commendable nine-goal contributions and perhaps in a better team, he’d be able to double those figures.
