Leicester City have had a busy summer transfer window and supporters will be hoping they can get more through the door this deadline day.

Eight players have joined Leicester City this summer but there are doubts about whether they will be able to add any more.

A striker has been top of Steve Cooper’s wishlist throughout the summer and although Jordan Ayew can play in that role, he isn’t seen as the first-choice number nine.

Moves for Adam Hlozek, Wilfred Zaha, and Fotis Ioannidis have all failed to materialise but it hasn’t stopped the links from coming in.

There’s also likely to be departures for youngsters in need of minutes, as well as one forward surplus to requirements.

Reports from Sky Sports however have claimed that Leicester transfers are unlikely this deadline day.

Armando Broja could be Leicester’s key transfer deadline day target

The latest number nine to be linked with a move to Leicester is Chelsea’s Armando Broja.

According to The Telegraph, the Foxes have registered an interest in signing Broja on loan.

He wrote: “Leicester City are targeting a striker signing today but are restricted by finance. Steve Cooper secured the £19m capture of Genk’s attacking midfielder Bilal El Khannouss yesterday but still wants to bring in a centre-forward.”

Broja looked set to join Premier League rivals Ipswich Town on loan only for the deal to break down.

The Albania international has struggled for game time of late with injury but with his experience in the top flight could prove to be a worthy addition.

Datro Fofana Leicester City transfer target

Strikers at Chelsea seem to be all the rage at the King Power Stadium and David Datro Fofana is another one being linked with a move to Leicester.

Like his teammate Broja, Chelsea are also looking to offload the young striker, who has failed to break into the squad.

Former Foxes boss Enzo Maresca wants to trim his squad at Stamford Bridge and Fofana fits the profile of a striker.

He scored four goals in 15 games on loan at Burnley last season and the chance to play regular football would be a welcome one.

Deadline day exit for Tom Cannon?

One player who will be hoping for a fresh start is striker Tom Cannon.

After failing to make an impression on former boss Maresca and now Cooper, Cannon has only made three starts since his move from Everton in 2023.

Leicester are conscious of the lack of options in the number nine position however Cannon is desperate to play football and is hoping to leave the club, either on loan or permanently.

Several Championship clubs have shown interest in the 21-year-old and his future could go down to the wire.

Ben Nelson set for Championship loan move

Cooper is keen to get youngsters with plenty of potential out on loan to secure them valuable minutes – something which Nelson needs.

Nelson featured in a handful of Championship games and has been on the bench for all three of Leicester’s games so far but to develop, he needs to play regularly.

A host of Championship clubs are interested in his services and a year away playing senior first-team football will set Nelson up well to challenge for a starting XI spot at the King Power Stadium in the future.

Will Alves could be one to watch on transfer deadline day

Like Nelson, Will Alves is a name to watch when it comes to a move away.

Aged 19, Alves has a bright future ahead of him and shone for the Foxes in his brief cameo against Tranmere Rovers in the Carabao Cup earlier this week.

But with Facundo Buonoanotte and now El Khannouss at the club, game time may be limited and the chance to play regularly will be a welcome opportunity that aids all.
