Leicester player ratings from Fulham defeat, midfield a shambles as several stars given 4/10

Leicester City were looking to put an end to their losing streak when they faced Fulham on Saturday.

The Foxes were beaten 2-0 by Crystal Palace in their previous Premier League fixture earlier this week.

Ruud van Nistelrooy’s side had lost six on the spin in the top flight as a result but their chances of survival aren’t completely over just yet.

Leicester City were two points away from safety prior to kick-off, meaning a win would have seen them climb above Wolverhampton Wanders, who don’t play until Monday.

Facundo Buonanotte was dropped vs Fulham but the rest of the starting lineup was the same as the team selected in the Palace defeat.

It was a very quiet first 45 but Fulham had the better of the chances and took the lead in the 47th minute.

Adama Traore made it 2-0 21 minutes later, killing off any chance of a Leicester win and seeing them fall to a seventh-straight defeat in the top flight.

Here’s how the players rated-

Jakub Stolarczyk – 6

Not too much he could have done about the goals he conceded on the day.

James Justin – 6

Saw his attacking threat limited at times due to Antonee Robinson pushing very high up the pitch. Not his worst display defensively but had his hands full with the American.

Wout Faes – 6

A decent showing from the defender in the first half, which included making a big tackle to prevent a likely Fulham goal. Poor marking for Fulham’s opener.

Jannik Vestergaard – 4

The weaker of the two centre-backs on the day and was the wrong side of his man when Emile Smith Rowe scored.

Victor Kristiansen – 6

Caused Fulham problems going forward and nearly got on the score sheet following a marauding run and shot. Slightly out of position for the opening goal but he had to cover a man in the middle.

Boubakary Soumare – 3

Struggled at times to keep up with Fulham’s attacking threat down their right, leading to a few chances.

Harry Winks – 3

A pretty anonymous showing from the midfielder who failed to have much impact at either end of the pitch.

Jordan Ayew – 6

Had a decent game, cutting inside to cause problems with a few efforts but he lacks the creativity of a player like Buonanotte and skied a few shots.

Bilal El Khannouss – 5

Passing was decent and tracked back at times but was unable to form much of a connection with Jamie Vardy before going off.

Stephy Mavididi – 5

Hardly touched the ball in the first 45, leaving Kristiansen to provide much of the attacking threat down the left.

Jamie Vardy – 5

Failed to have any meaningful impact again, unable to make runs in behind and largely being dominated by the Fulham centre-backs.

Substitutes

Oliver Skipp – 4

Did little of note when he came on to try and turn the game around.

Kasey McAteer – 4

Had very little attacking threat after being subbed on.

Patson Daka – 4

Received basically zero service after replacing Jamie Vardy.

Facundo Buonanotte –

Struggled to provide the creative spark we have seen from him so much this season.
