Opposition fans in complete agreement about Jordan Ayew vs Arsenal – Leicester City supporters will be baffled

Leicester City were once again beaten in the Premier League on Saturday, losing 2-0 to Arsenal.

The Foxes went into the match looking for just their second league win in 10 outings.

However, they have not scored a home league goal since all the way back in December, and that run continued on February 15th.

To Ruud van Nistelrooy’s credit, Leicester City, much like they did in patches against Manchester United in the FA Cup, played well.

However, they could not stop Mikel Arteta’s side, as was to be expected, coming away with the victory.

When all was said and done, Leicester lost 2-0 to Arsenal thanks to 81st and 87th-minute goals from Mikel Merino.

It was an excellent decision from the Gunners’ manager but while Arteta needs praise for his game-winning decision, Van Nistelrooy has been getting some flack for his.

Fans can’t believe Jordan Ayew was subbed by Leicester City vs Arsenal

Merino was brought on by Arsenal in the 69th minute, while Jordan Ayew was taken off by Leicester in the 75th minute.

And taking to social media during and after the match, rival fans were left baffled by the second call, with some suggesting it cost Leicester the match.

One fan wrote: “Can’t believe Leicester took Ayew off – been brilliant this afternoon.”

A second added: “Leicester deserved that for subbing Ayew off,” while another stated: “Ayew is carrying Leicester so hard. He deserves better.”

“Jordan Ayew is low-key a Premier League legend. Not many can draw a foul better than he does,” a fourth claimed.

A fifth supporter wrote: “Ayew looked better than Sterling, Sterling is that bad.”

But while rival fans were quick to praise the former Crystal Palace man, the Leicester faithful tore into him.

One Leicester fan wrote: “Ayew and Reid need dropping,” while a second stated: “Van Nistlerooy needs to fix this ridiculous ego of his and play the players who change a game, not the —- he starts every single week. Mavididi and Buonanotte are light years ahead of Ayew and Reid but he somehow can’t notice that when everyone else does.”

Jordan Ayew stats for Leicester City vs Arsenal

It’s easy to see why rival fans were quick to praise Ayew as he did look to be one of the better players on the pitch before he was taken off.

Leicester lost a lot of their defensive cover in his absence and the ending of the match may go some way to explaining why he keeps starting despite his age and other options like Facundo Buonanotte being available.

Leicester now have a huge meeting with Brentford coming up and based on the Arsenal defeat, Ayew will probably keep his place.
