Leicester City travelled to Brighton in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon and supporters had little hope of securing a result.
It’s been a horrendous spectacle for supporters in recent months, with Leicester City losing eight straight games without scoring.
Ruud van Nistelrooy reached a new low last time out, too, as Leicester lost 3-0 against Newcastle United, leaving them 15 points from safety and resigned to relegation.
The hope of their fortunes altering at the AMEX stadium were slim as Brighton are chasing down the European places and normally difficult to beat.
But, with Van Nistelrooy changing formation and a few changes made to the starting lineup, City were able to make a good start on the South Coast.

What Leicester City fans were chanting after scoring vs Brighton
For the first time in months, Leicester looked threatening in attack against the Seagulls, with Stephy Mavididi carrying the baton in attack.
The Frenchman made multiple bursts forward in the opening exchanges, with supporters perhaps wondering why he hasn’t started much recently.
However, when Joao Pedro opened the scoring from the penalty spot in the 31st minute, fans in that away end experienced a familiar sinking feeling.
But, to the credit of the visitors, they didn’t lay down and die after scoring – as they usually do – and instead took the game to Brighton.
And they reaped the rewards for their ambition when Mavididi fired home his chance in the 38th minute, sparking pandemonium in the away end, as it was the first time since January 26 that Leicester had scored a goal.
To mark the occasion, Leicester fans hilariously sang ‘We scored a goal’, an ironic chant that made light of their situation.

Stephy Mavididi making a difference
Mavididi was making his first league start for Leicester since a defeat to Fulham in January, and the Frenchman will wonder how it’s taken so long.
The 26-year-old was integral in their Championship title win last term, scoring 12 and assisting six in the league.
So, when he was finally awarded a start against Brighton, he played like he had a point to prove and he looked constantly threatening on the counter-attack, as demonstrated by him finding the net.
With Mavididi likely to remain at the King Power Stadium next season, it’s imperative Van Nistelrooy keeps him in the team, as he’s someone who clearly makes a difference.
