20-year-old ace says he has ‘no future’ at Leicester City despite joining in 2023

Leicester City defender Victor Kristiansen has been on loan at Bologna this season and now suggests that he isn’t planning on a return.

20-year-old Victor Kristiansen was only signed by the Foxes in January of this year for a fee of £12.2 million from Copenhagen.

Despite having bundles of potential and costing a significant fee just 11 months ago, Kristiansen already seems to have no future at Leicester City.

He was sent out on loan in August to Serie A side Bologna where he has made 10 appearances already in all competitions. One assist also shows he is thriving at his temporary side.

But now it seems he is determined to not have to return to Leicester at all if his recent words are to be taken literally.

Kristiansen doesn’t want to return to Leicester

In Sunday’s printed edition of Il Corriere dello Sport on page 23 via Football Italia, Danish reporters asked Kristiansen whether he plans to return to Leicester on the completion of his loan.

To this, he replied, “No, at the moment, there’s no future for me there.”

Last month it was reported that Bologna was keen on making his loan permanent but were looking to negotiate a lower fee for Kristiansen.

With the player clearly keen on a move, it would be likely that he will inevitably go permanently as there is little point keeping an unhappy player.

Kristiansen could have been a great signing for Leicester however amid a relegation, a player like him is ideal to part with given his high value.

Maresca could have used Kristiansen

With Enzo Maresca, the important thing is and has been quality on the ball, something Kristiansen has in abundance.

He is a technically proficient left-back who has the physical qualities to feature centrally and also to drop into midfield which makes the decision to part ways baffling.

He is a far better option than the likes of Luke Thomas who has been disappointing this season.

Hopefully, there is a change of heart and Kristiansen remains. But we won’t hold our breath as it already seems like a foregone conclusion.
