Former Leicester City man Ian Baraclough has said he believes Harry Winks was a top signing for the Foxes given his quality and price.
Winks joined Enzo Maresca’s side over the summer in a deal worth a reported £10 million.
The former Tottenham Hotspur man has started every Championship game since joining the club, receiving plenty of good reviews.
Compared to other midfielders he ranks in the top 1% for attempted passes and percentage passes completed per 90.
On average, he has attempted 90 passes per game while completing 95% of those. Thus making him one of the most effective midfielders in that metric.
Who is Ian Baraclough?
Baraclough began his career with the Foxes back in 1988 and went on to play for and manage a whole host of teams.
With appearances for QPR, Notts County and Scunthorpe United amongst others, he has featured in over 600 senior matches.
Since retiring he has gone on to manage Northern Ireland and Motherwell too.

What has he said about Harry Winks?
Speaking on the BBC’s When You’re Smiling podcast, the former Leicester man has praised the current for his start at the King Power.
Asked about his thoughts on the signing he said: “I thought it was an excellent piece of business for Leicester City.”
Considering the pedigree that Winks came with, it may have come as a surprise that he would take the drop.
This opinion was shared by Baraclough: “It’s great for a Championship team to go and get a player who has made 10 appearances for England.”
“He’s played almost 130 games for Spurs while having the experience of a 26-year-old.”
Looking back it was a real coup for the Foxes and he has quickly become a very important player under Maresca.
Speaking on his fee, he added: “He’s not yet in his prime, I would suggest, so to get him in for £10m was a great bit of business.”
An ideal signing so far and has done better than many would have expected or even hoped he would.
