Leicester City face off against Manchester United tonight in what will be the most important game of Ruud van Nistelrooy’s tenure with the Foxes.

The King Power Stadium side find themselves nine points off safety after Wolves’ win against Southampton this weekend, with Leicester starting to run out of time if they’re to begin and pull off a relegation great escape.

With Gary Lineker already writing off Leicester’s chances of staying up, a surprise result today against United could be what Van Nistelrooy’s side need to turn their season around with ten games left to go in the Premier League.

And Chris Sutton is predicting just that for Leicester heading into today’s massive game against the Manchester giants.

Leicester predicted to draw against Manchester United

Writing for BBC Sport, the pundit predicted Leicester to get a point against United, with Sutton writing: “Leicester have struggled defensively all season but their current lack of goals is an even bigger problem – they have not found the net in any of their past five league matches, and have lost all of them.

“You could look at the Foxes’ 1-0 defeat against Chelsea last week and think that result was not too bad, but they never looked like scoring – the closest they got to a goal was when a cross came off Blues defender Tosin Adarabioyo’s shoulder, and hit the bar.

“Mind you, Manchester United are far from prolific either. They did improve in the second half of their draw with Arsenal, but they still don’t have much of a cutting edge.

“That makes me think this is going to be close. Leicester gave United a good game in the FA Cup at Old Trafford a few weeks ago and were beaten by Harry Maguire’s controversial stoppage-time winner. This time it is going to be just as tight, and I think the points will be shared.”

Leicester have only picked up points once this year in the Premier League

Leicester’s form has been nothing short of tragic in the Premier League, with Van Nistelrooy’s side losing 12 of their last 13 league matches, a run that has led to the Foxes sliding down the table and now looking into the abyss of a return to the Championship.

As a result of Leicester’s performances, the Foxes have only managed to pick up points in just one game this season, that being a 2-1 win away to Tottenham at the end of January as Jamie Vardy and Bilal El Khannouss found the back of the net.

Indeed, a win today could be what sparks Leicester’s survival bid, and with United in as shaky form as they have been this season, the King Power Stadium side will be feeling their chances later tonight against the Red Devils.
