Jamie Vardy has been discussing the Southampton game coming up as well as his new manager and squad development.
Vardy has been with the Foxes for over ten years and has seen it all, from promotion and relegation, to a Premier League title.
With that being said, a manager with a vision like Enzo Maresca is new to the Englishman.
So far this season, Vardy is yet to score despite featuring in all five Championship games so far this season.
He did score in the EFL Cup against Tranmere Rovers however.
The number nine is a legend at the club and there is belief that he will fire in the Championship.
The whole squad is acclimatising to the new manager and despite the level he has reached, Vardy is not exempt from this.
What has Jamie Vardy said?
The striker hasn’t played in the Championship since 2014 when Leicester won promotion to the Premier League.
Since then, the whole division has changed, with positive football that is good to watch a priority now a days.
With that being said, Vardy felt this was the case: “Everything’s been a test up to now”
Maresca joined from Manchester City this summer and clearly has a philosophy and way of playing.
On his tactical approach, the Englishman said: “We’ve had the new gaffer come in and he’s got a way of playing that we’ve not been used to.
“Its all been learning day by day, including during the games and its a process that the gaffer is seeing every day in training.”
This kind of learning will take time, especially given the number of new signings coming through the door.
As a result of this, nothing is guaranteed: “Its not going to be perfect at the minute but we’ve managed to get quite a few results from it.”
Despite this, Vardy believes that they are moving in the right direction.
Discussing their weekends opponents, he said: “Its all about carrying on in that way, we’ve seen how they build up and how they press its probably quite similar.”
It has been a great start for the Foxes, which they will look to continue.
The Leicester striker will also hope to get his goal tally up and running ASAP.
