Leicester City manager Enzo Maresca said he is looking forward to facing Liverpool in the EFL Cup in Wednesday evening, stating it will be a ‘completely different’ game.
The Foxes will be heading to Anfield in the third round of the EFL Cup, making that the third away game in as many EFL Cup games for Leicester after defeating Burton Albion in the first round and Tranmere Rovers in the second, both by a score line of 2-0.
Despite being top of the Championship, Marescas knows it will be a tough game and a test for his side. The Foxes a manger said he wants to finish well going into the next international break in a few weeks’ time.
Enzo Maresca: ‘It’ll be a nice game’

“It’ll be a nice game because of the opponent,” the Italian said in his pre-match press conference. “We cannot compare to the rest of the games, it’s a completely different game.
“They have some new players, but for transition and off the ball, they are probably the best team in the world over the last five or six or seven years. Now, even if they have some new players, they just need time to adapt and they will go again.
“It’s an important competition, for sure. The game is a good game against Liverpool away at Anfield. It’s a good environment. At the same time, we have many games, playing every three days. After Liverpool, again we go with three games in one week.
“We’ll try to finish in the right way before the international break.”
