Leicester City manager Enzo Maresca said that getting lost trying to find lunch on Saturday was proof to him that it is too early to be getting carried away, with the Foxes top of the Championship table.

The Foxes returned to the top of the table after a 1-0 win over Bristol City, with a penalty from Jamie Vardy meaning Leicester took over Preston North End in the table, with the Lilywhites remaining unbeaten after a draw with Rotherham United.

Despite the three points, Maresca is poised to not let the team get ahead of themselves.

“I tell you why, because from the changing room to where we have lunch is on the other side and I needed to ask two people to arrive there,” Maresca told BBC Radio Leicester.

Maresca continued: “This, I think, makes it very clear. Even me, I can’t find my way from the dressing room to the restaurant, so it’s early days.

“To be honest, I am looking at the results and looking at the table, but at the end I know it is very early.”

Leicester have started the season brilliantly under Maresca, winning seven and losing one of their opening eight games, winning nine from ten in all competitions since his arrival in the summer.

They have won three games since their only loss of the season against Hull City, which was just before the international break. They have scored seven in this three games, conceding only once.

Leicester will now turn their attention on a trip to Anfield to play Liverpool in the third round of the EFL Cup.
