Against Norwich City, Hamza Choudhury was given the captain’s armband and his manager Enzo Maresca has given his reasons.
Choudhury has been with the Foxes since the age of seven. He has seen it all during his time with the club.
The England youth international has won an FA Cup, played in Europe and is now in the Championship with Leicester.
Spending last season out on loan saw him gain many plaudits and has become a useful member of Maresca’s squad.
City travelled to Norwich and came away with a well-earned, 2-0 win with Kelechi Iheanacho and Kasey McAteer securing the three points.
On the night, Choudhury was named as captain in the absence of Jamie Vardy and Ricardo Pereira.

What has Enzo Maresca said about Hamza Choudhury?
It is fair to say this would have been an honour given he has spent his whole senior career with the Foxes.
When asked why, Maresca said: “He’s one of the academy players.
“He was born here. Also in the way he works and we are trying to give some of them responsibility.”
With that being said, you aren’t playing for the Italian manager just because you came through the youth academy.
He made that point very clear: “Hamza is not in this moment an academy player joining the first team.
“Absolutely not. Now he’s in the first team and he has to show responsibility and leadership.”
It is great to see a local lad recognised by the manager and finally given the chance to show his ability for Leicester.
It was clearly a happy moment for the midfielder: “Proud to lead this incredible team to another victory!” Which he posted on social media post-match.
A great moment for Choudhury and just what Foxes fans want to see.
