Leicester City lost their second consecutive game against Middlesbrough over the weekend, now Matt Piper has reacted.
Two weeks ago, Leicester City looked like they would inevitably break every record in the Championship as they sat clear at the top, with a higher points tally than any team before them.
Now though, Ipswich Town are level on points while in the rearview mirror, Leeds United and Southampton are just eight and nine points adrift respectively.
The Foxes’ slump in form was always bound to happen as every side experiences a dip, but Enzo Maresca needs to be incredibly cautious to avoid two turning into three against Watford.
After the Middlesbrough loss at the weekend, Matt Piper has sent Maresca a warning.

Piper sends warning to Maresca
Speaking on the When You’re Smiling podcast, former Leicester player Matt Piper explained his concerns after a second straight loss.
“I’m not panicking though, I’m not one of these saying ‘oh my god, two in two, have the wheels fell off?’, I don’t think they have but yeah, It’s disappointing, but we’re still top of the table”, Piper explained.
“If you’re honest with yourself, you’ve got to be a little bit concerned, we’re creating chances which is a good thing, but we seem to be struggling in front of goal.”
Darren Bent warned Maresca last week of the dangers of a blip becoming more serious, but that advice will become even more important following this international break.
What next for Leicester?
After the Championship resumes, the Foxes face what we see are some winnable fixtures that could get them back on track.
First of, Watford will be welcomed to the King Power in what has become a must win game between two teams who were once Premier League foes.
Following this game comes one of the easiest fixtures on the calender, with Sheffield Wednesday currently under tremendous stress and difficulties, everyone has had success against them lately.
Following that, Leicester are away to West Brom and then Plymouth Argyle. But these will be the least of Maresca’s concerns as he looks to avoid defeat three next time out.
