The January transfer window is on the verge of opening and Leicester City are expected to be one of the busiest clubs in the market.
Leicester are heading into 2025 in the relegation zone and following a managerial change in November, Ruud van Nistelrooy will be given a chance to put his own stamp on the squad.

Unlike the summer transfer window, the winter edition will be a much shorter one, meaning there is less time for the Foxes.
With that, Leicester City News has given the lowdown on everything you need to know about the January transfer window.

How long is the January transfer window?
The transfer window opens on Wednesday 1 January 2025 at 12:00 AM GMT and will close at 11:00 PM GMT on Monday 3 February 2025.
Why is transfer deadline day on 3 February?
Usually, transfer deadline day would fall on 31 January, which also happens to be a Friday, but in 2025 it shall end on 3 February.
In May 2024, the Premier League revealed that the decision had been taken to ensure they followed the same pattern as rival leagues across Europe.
A statement read: “Meanwhile, the winter window will open on Wednesday 1 January 2025 and will close at 23:00 GMT on Monday 3 February 2025. To ensure harmonisation with the major leagues in Europe, the closing dates were set following discussions with the EFL, DFL, Serie A, La Liga, and LFP, who will all close their Summer and Winter windows on 30 August and 3 February respectively.”
What are Leicester City’s transfer priorities in January?
Two of the biggest areas of concern for Leicester are the defensive and forward positions.
Leicester are looking at centre-back options whilst the Foxes have also been linked with Evan Ferguson as the Blues try to find someone who can support Jamie Vardy.

A lack of funds may mean that Van Nistelrooy has to dip into the loan market but with two Premier League players already loaned in by the club, one could leave.
Odsonne Edouard could be sent back to Crystal Palace after failing to impress on loan while other players lacking game time could be moved on.
