Leicester City are likely to be relegated to the Championship this season and their players have now been slammed for their role in the decline.
The Foxes dominated the Championship under Enzo Maresca in 2023/24, finishing first to secure a quick return to the top flight.
However, with just over two months of the Premier League season left to play, Leicester City are on the brink of relegation once more.
A victory over West Ham United on Thursday evening will help their survival push but even three points against the Hammers would still leave them two points from safety with a horrible run of fixtures coming up.

Amid a run of 10 losses from 11, which could easily turn into 11 from 12 this week, Leicester fans have begun to turn on Ruud van Nistelrooy, who replaced Steve Cooper as manager in November 2024.

Simon Jordan slams Leicester City players who got Steve Cooper sacked
The Dutchman had limited experience in management, at least at senior level, prior to moving to the King Power Stadium.
It’s fair to say his time with the Foxes has not worked out so far and some have even begun to question if sacking Cooper for Ruud was the right call.
One man who certainly doesn’t think it was is former Crystal Palace chairman Simon Jordan, who hit out at the Leicester players who helped get the ex-Nottingham Forest boss the sack.
In his column for the Daily Mail, Jordan wrote: “Leading voices in the Leicester City dressing room were instrumental from what I understand in driving a wedge between former boss Steve Cooper and the owners.
“The ownership took the direction of the players over their manager and have now got their ‘rewards’.
“Leicester are in a far worse position in the table and, barring an improbable turn of events, heading for relegation.”

Ruud van Nistelrooy Leicester City record compared to Steve Cooper
Hindsight is a wonderful thing and we can never really know if replacing Cooper with Ruud was the right call.
On paper, Van Nistelrooy does have a worse record as Leicester manager than his predecessor did.
| Manager | Matches | Wins | Draws | Losses | Points per game | Goals scored per game | Goals conceded per game |
| Ruud van Nistelrooy | 15 | 3 | 1 | 11 | 0.67 | 1.07 | 2.40 |
| Steve Cooper | 15 | 4 | 4 | 7 | 1.07 | 1.60 | 1.87 |
However, it’s worth pointing out that the Dutchman has had to deal with a lot more injury problems during his time in charge.
Abdul Fatawu is out for the remainder of the season while key duo Wilfred Ndidi and Mads Hermansen had long spells on the sidelines recently.
