Leicester City have avoided a PSR charge relating to the 2023/24 season in a massive boost to their Premier League survival hopes.
The Premier League have announced that Leicester have complied with PSR rules and there has been no complaint made against the club.
So the fears of a possible points deduction have now been eased and Leicester fans have been reacting to the excellent PSR outcome.
However, there have since been tentative doubts about whether City are actually out of the woods as it’s emerged there’s still an ongoing legal case with the Premier League, relating to the breach during the 2022/23 season – which was successfully appealed by the club in September.
The Premier League have appealed the appeal, so Leicester could still face punishment, though, finance expert Stefan Borson has just shed some positive light on that.

Stefan Borson says Premier League unlikely to win appeal against Leicester
Speaking on talkSPORT on Monday afternoon, Stefan Borson explained that the Premier League are unlikely to win their appeal against Leicester.
“I don’t think the Premier League should be appealing an appeal,” Borson said.
“The Premier League are now going back and saying we are going to appeal the appeal and the basis on which you can appeal an appeal is such a tiny window, it could not reasonably have been decided by anybody.
“What I’m saying is the Premier League have got to show that this is so outlandish, that decision by the appeal that found in favour of Leicester, so outlandish that nobody else could possibly have found it.
“I just think that’s extremely unlikely.”
Leicester must learn their lesson and return to previous recruitment model
It seems Leicester are set to get away with one and can certainly count themselves fortunate that they’ve avoided a points deduction.
Now that they’re seemingly out of the woods, club chiefs must ensure this never happens again and to do that, they’ll need to bring back the old recruitment model – selling one key asset every summer.
It seems that process is already back in action, as Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall was sold to Chelsea last year in a £30m deal.
Unfortunately, this summer Mads Hermansen could leave the King Power Stadium, as Manchester United eye the Denmark international.
