Leicester City are in danger of being relegated from the Premier League, while a former player could drop down to League One next season.
The Foxes won promotion from the Championship in 2023/24 but are on course to suffer a swift return to the second tier this term.
Opta have rated Leicester City’s Premier League survival chances this week and it makes for grim reading.
10,000 simulations were conducted and Ruud van Nistelrooy’s side go down in a large portion of them.
The Foxes have won just one of their last 12 league fixtures and when looking at their upcoming run of games, it’s hard to see where they will pick up many, if any, points.

While relegation to the Championship seems likely for the Midlands outfit, one of their former players could be relegated from the second tier before the season draws to a close.

Former Leicester City player battling relegation with Derby County
The man in question is Callum Elder, who began his playing career with Leicester in their youth ranks.
Elder lined out 41 times for the Foxes’ U21 team, scoring two goals and providing five assists in said games.
The majority of his time at the King Power Stadium was spent out on loan, however, with stints at the likes of Mansfield Town, Ipswich Town and Peterborough United.
He eventually left Leicester on a permanent basis in 2019, linking up with Hull City before moving to Derby County on a free transfer in 2023.
Elder helped the Rams win promotion from League One in 2023/24, but they are now in danger of suffering relegation this term.
Derby have won just seven league games all season and are currently four points adrift of Hull in the table.

Leicester City had plans for Callum Elder
While Elder never got a chance to prove himself at Leicester, the club did have big plans for him at one stage.
After several successful loan spells, Leicestershire Live reported in 2018 that the Foxes wanted the defender to go out on loan in the Championship as they looked toward a future that did not involve Christian Fuchs.
Elder did not end up replacing Fuchs in the team but he’s still had a decent career elsewhere.
Now 30, he’s won the League One title on two occasions and will still probably play an important role at Derby next term if they do go down.
