Leicester City are having a nightmare 2024/25 alongside one of their former players.

The Foxes had a busy 2024 summer transfer window that saw a number of players leave and join the club.

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall has struggled at Chelsea following his big-money exit over the summer.

Marc Albrighton retired from playing following a 10-year spell at the King Power Stadium.

More recently, Tom Cannon has flopped at Sheffield United since he secured a £10m move to Sheffield United in January.

But he’s not the only former Leicester City striker who has been well off his game since departing the King Power in the last year.

Kelechi Iheanacho moved to Spain, linking up with La Liga outfit Sevilla on a free transfer in July 2024.

Former Leicester City ace Kelechi Iheanacho dropped by Middlesbrough and Nigeria

However, he played just nine league games in the first half of 2024/25 and after failing to score a single goal, was loaned to Middlesbrough for the remainder of the campaign.

But Boro fans have slammed Iheanacho since his arrival on Teesside for his effort and inability to replace Emmanuel Latte Lath.

The 28-year-old started defeats to Sheffield United, Watford, and Bristol City for Middlesbrough after his switch.

But after subpar performances in said matches, he was axed by manager Michael Carrick when the North East outfit clashed with and beat Stoke City 3-1 on Tuesday evening.

In a further blow to the former Leicester man, it’s now been reported by OwnGoalNigeria that he has been dropped for Nigeria’s upcoming World Cup qualifiers, which began midway through March.

Kelechi Iheanacho Leicester City stats

Iheanacho joined Leicester in 2017 from Manchester City in a deal worth around £25m.

The centre-forward won the FA Cup, Community Shield, and promotion from the Championship during his stint with the club.

All told he made 232 appearances, scored 61 goals, and provided 34 assists as a Leicester player.

Iheanacho opened up on his exit in 2024, suggesting a lack of playing time in 2023/24 was a key reason for it.
