Sheffield United fans are in complete agreement about Tom Cannon, Leicester City supporters will be thrilled

Leicester City fans were not happy when Tom Cannon was allowed to leave on a permanent basis for Sheffield United.

The Foxes had a horrific January transfer window, which saw just one player – Woyo Coulibaly – signed for £3m.

The majority of transfer activity at the King Power Stadium saw the Midlands outfit parting ways with players.

Their biggest exit was the sale of Tom Cannon to Sheffield United for a fee of around £10m.

The striker had been impressive on loan at Stoke City and given their dire situation in the Premier League, it made sense for the Foxes to keep him around after recalling the forward.

However, Leicester fans were furious at Cannon’s sale to The Blades but recent weeks may have changed their stance.

Sheffield United fans furious at former Leicester City player Tom Cannon

Sheffield United faced off with Leeds United in a huge meeting at the top end of the Championship table on Monday evening.

But after the Yorkshire outfit lost that match 3-1, fans of Chris Wilder’s team took to social media to vent their anger toward Cannon.

One fan wrote: “Tom Cannon 10 big uns. Wouldn’t look out of place on a Sunday morning.”

A second added: “Wilder’s scared of Leeds and Tom Cannon is a waste of 10m.”

“Can’t believe we spent 10 or 12 mill however much on ——- Tom Cannon and no one complained about it. What a joke,” another wrote.

While a fourth stated: “Tom Cannon is hilariously —-. 13m,” and another Sheffield United fan questioned: “Can we send Tom Cannon on loan to Northampton or?”

And a sixth wrote: “Still trying to work out why we’ve bothered signing Tom Cannon? Looks like another ——- Oli Burke, just runs the ball into nowhere. Utter waste of money. 11 million should have been spent on a defender.”

Tom Cannon stats for Sheffield United vs Leeds United

This is not the first time Sheffield United fans have hit out at Cannon since his winter switch from Leicester.

He’s now gone five games without a goal for his new club and was once again subpar versus Leeds.

It left Leicester fans angry at the time but they may now be pleased they were able to net £10m for the 22-year-old, even if it wasn’t spent in January.
