Leicester City are preparing for what is expected to be a season-defining game against West Ham United.

The Foxes are set to travel to the London Stadium for a huge Premier League meeting with West Ham United on February 27th.

Leicester City lost to Brentford in convincing fashion last time out, leaving them five points from safety.

But after Wolverhampton Wanderers were beaten by Fulham on Tuesday evening, there is now a chance for Ruud van Nistelrooy’s side to close the gap on their relegation rivals back to just two points heading into the final two and a bit months of the campaign.

Standing in their way are a West Ham side that had been in poor form but most recently killed off Arsenal’s slim hopes of catching Liverpool in the title race by beating them 1-0.

But should they fail to see off the Hammers, it does seem inevitable that relegation is certain for the Midlands outfit.

West Ham vs Leicester City result predicted by supercomputer

After Leicester clash with West Ham, a torrid run of fixtures awaits the relegation-threatened team.

They first take on Chelsea before going on a run that will see them pitted against high-flying sides such as Newcastle United, Manchester City, and Liverpool.

In turn, it’s imperative they come away with the three points on Thursday evening but right now, that seems unlikely.

Leicester are predicted to lose to West Ham by Paul Merson, who also questioned the future of Ruud.

And now, Opta’s supercomputer has predicted the outcome of the match and it’s not great reading for Leicester fans.

The Foxes have been given just a 21 percent chance of winning the tie and a 22 percent chance of securing a draw.

West Ham are heavy favorites for the three points with a 56 percent chance of beating Leicester in midweek.

Should that happen, relegation to the Championship may as well be as good as confirmed and will leave Van Nistelrooy’s future up for debate.

Ruud van Nistelrooy on Leicester City future

Fans turned on the Leicester manager during the recent drubbing at the hands of Thomas Frank’s Brentford.

However, speaking ahead of the meeting with the East London outfit this week, Van Nistelrooy reaffirmed his commitment to Leicester.

He said: “I know what contract I signed and it hasn’t been a contract for five months, it was two more seasons after this.

“I was aware when I arrived what the challenge was and how difficult it could be. I was aware and committed to the future.”

While he remains committed to the club, however, a potential run of 11 losses from 12 is obviously sackable form and if it keeps up in the coming weeks, it’s hard to see the Dutchman lasting until May.
