Right wingers, Abdul Fatawu and Yunus Akgun, both signed this summer and both play on the right. Enzo Maresca has discussed his plans for them.

The two new wingers will be going head to head, with Marcal Wanya, Kasey McAteer and Marc Albrighton also in the mix.

Fatawu and Akgun made their debuts against Hull City, as the Foxes lost 1-0 thanks to an early Liam Delap goal.

The Turkish winger started the game and played 54 minutes before being replaced. He didn’t make much of an impression in his first game.

On the other hand, Fatawu came on and added something. Hitting the post eight minutes into his first appearance.

With all these wingers where does Maresca see his team lining up?

What has Enzo Maresca said about Abdul Fatawu and Yunus Akgun?

Fatawu was electric against Hull, although he didn’t score, constantly cutting inside and causing problems and getting fans on their feet.

When discussing the new Ghanian he said: “He’s very good in one versus one, very quick.

“He needs time. But for sure he is going to help us. I saw him at Sporting and most of the time he was playing on the right side.”

The issue comes when looking to chose between Akgun and him: “For sure, for Yunus and Abdul they prefer to play on the right side.”

There is also two youngsters who have started the season really well.

McAteer and Wanya have featured in four games between them, with the latter bagging a goal against Cardiff City.

Talking about those two, Maresca said: “Macca is also there. He has scored twice. Wanya has also played there and he has scored once. So we have different options.”

There are plenty of young and exciting options moving forward, which can only be a good thing.
