Cesare Casadei is on loan at Leicester City, from Chelsea, for the season and is relishing the opportunity to play in the Premier League in the future.

The Italian spent last season on loan at Reading, showing plenty of promise in a poor side that were relegated.

After his first half season in England, he went to the Under 20’s World Cup and had a top tier tournament.

Six goals in seven games resulted in him picking up the player and top scorer of the tournament, a top achievement given the talent playing.

Chelsea signed him in a deal involving Romelu Lukaku going the other way on loan.

What has Cesare Casadei said?

Ironically, the Italian didn’t even know about the interest: “I learned about Chelsea’s interest from an Instagram post.”

“I didn’t know if there was anything concrete to it or not.”

Once he knew the interest was true, it took some time to complete the deal but none the less he signed for the Londoners.

He spent the first half of his spell with their under 21s before making a move.

When asked about his future, he sees it here: “I see myself well here in England.”

“In the summer there was a possibility of returning to Italy, but along with Chelsea we felt that staying was the best solution to allow me to grow further.”

This is where Leicester came in to take the exciting midfielder on loan.

Despite being with his Foxes this season, his eyes are set on a future elsewhere: “I hope to make my debut in the Premier League with Chelsea, even as early as next season.”

Of course that is the reason for any loan but it could be seen as slightly disrespectful to Enzo Maresca’s side right now.

If Casadei puts his heart and soul into Leicester and is so good Chelsea have to play him, then that is fair enough.
