Norwich City boss David Wagner has praised Leicester City and believes they are one of the best sides in the Championship.

The Foxes have won every one of their away games so far this season, and have only lost one at home, representing a tough challenge for anyone.

Wagner joined the Canaries in January and has started this season on the front foot.

Norwich are in fourth place at the time of writing, sitting just two points behind Leicester, five points of the automatic places.

Wagner has experience of Championship promotion, winning on penalties in the play-off final, for Huddersfield against Reading.

As a result, he knows what it takes to take a place in the Premier League.

What has David Wagner said about Leicester City?

The German manager is under no illusions about the Foxes’ promotion credentials.

On their chances, he said: “They will get promoted. This is not a secret.

“I even don’t know if you can bet on them. Probably not.”

It is clear that the Norwich boss understands their threat and thinks they will be one of the best teams in the league.

He isn’t shying away from the challenge, however: “We are really looking forward to [the challenge], and where we are excited about.

“A game where we aim to be the most uncomfortable opponent Leicester can face. This is what we will try.”

Wagner believes that Enzo Maresca’s side are already great: “This is a very good side, a Premier League side. A big, big challenge ahead of us.”

It is clear that Leicester are seen as a threat, but Norwich also have dangerous players and won’t be a pushover, that is for sure.
