It’s been a miserable campaign for everyone involved with Leicester City as relegation to the Championship beckons.

Leicester’s embarrassing 4-0 defeat to West Ham last Thursday kept them marooned in the division’s bottom three by five points.

It’s caused thousands to turn on the manager, with fans calling for Ruud van Nistelrooy to be sacked after losing 11 of their last 12 games in the league.

February, in particular, was an incredibly difficult month for the Dutchman. Leicester were knocked out of the FA Cup by Manchester United, albeit controversially, and also witnessed four Premier League defeats without scoring.

Leicester City react angrily to Goal of the Month post

Embarrassingly, the only goal Leicester scored last month was Bobby De Cordova-Reid’s scruffy finish against Man United in the FA Cup.

The other four matches saw Van Nistelrooy’s men concede 12 without reply. So, when Leicester posted the Goal of the Month nominees for February, it caused outrage among fans that Reid’s was included.

The other selections were either from the Leicester City Women’s team or the academy, with supporters responding to this post by mocking the men’s first team.

“This is a very embarrassing post. Delete delete delete,” one fan wrote.

“Bobby Reid’s, one for the ages that strike,” another jokingly responded.

“Wow you really need to delete this,” a third said.

“Depressing,” one person simply stated while another replied: “Says it all.”

“Tone-Deaf FC strikes again,” a seventh commented.

Fans are clearly embarrassed that the Men’s team only scored one goal last month and have unsurprisingly requested for the post to be taken down.

It just demonstrates how poor Leicester have been under Van Nistelrooy, and unfortunately, things could continue to get worse in March.

Leicester City’s horrid fixture run in March

Leicester travel to Chelsea in the Premier League on Sunday, in what is their second time clashing with Enzo Maresca since his departure in the summer.

No one can imagine the Foxes claiming a positive result from Stamford Bridge, and quite frankly, belief has never been lower among the fanbase.

Worryingly, Leicester will follow up their trip to Chelsea with clashes against Manchester United, Manchester City, Newcastle United, Brighton and Liverpool.

It’s scary to think how badly those fixtures could go, with Van Nistelrooy’s men set to be cut further adrift inside the relegation zone.
