Leicester City sold Riyad Mahrez to Manchester City in 2018 and have never really been able to replace him.
The Foxes snapped up Riyad Mahrez in January 2014 from French side Le Havre AC for a fee less than £1m.
The Algerian took some time to get up to speed at the King Power Stadium, scoring just four goals and assisting three in his first full season when Leicester City were in a relegation battle.
However, something clearly clicked for the now 34-year-old in 2015/16 en route to helping the Midlands outfit lift the Premier League title.
Mahrez scored a staggering 17 goals and assisted 10 in 37 league matches as Leicester clinched their first-ever Premier League trophy.
While N’Golo Kante left for Chelsea that summer, the winger stuck around for two more years, scoring 48 goals and assisting 35 before eventually departing for Manchester City.

Leicester City sold Riyad Mahrez replacement for £3.4m
Mahrez signed for the Sky Blues on July 10th, 2018, in a deal worth somewhere in the region of £60m.
In theory, this left Leicester with plenty of time and money to sign a suitable replacement for one of their title-winning heroes.
In the end, the Foxes settled on one of Mahrez’s fellow countrymen, Rachid Ghezzal, who joined on August 5th of that year for a reported £10m, as per BBC Sport.
But it’s fair to say that the right-winger was unable to follow in the footsteps of the Leicester icon, scoring just three goals and assisting zero in 23 matches.
After three years and a couple of loan spells, Ghezzal left permanently in August 2021, joining Turkish side Betikas in a deal the Daily Mail reported to be £3.4m – a £6.6m loss on the £10m originally paid for him in 2018.

What former Leicester City player Rachid Ghezzal is doing now
Including a loan spell prior to making his move permanent, Ghezzal featured 123 times for Besitkas, scoring 17 and assisting 33.
He left the Turkish powerhouse in September 2024, linking up with Caykur Rizespor on a free transfer.
The 32-year-old has so far scored four goals and assisted two in 18 league games for his new club, who sit eighth in the Super Lig at present.
