How every Leicester City player on international duty performed during September break

As the international break draws to a close, several Leicester City players will return from across the globe for the trip to Crystal Palace.

12 first-team players and two youth prospects were in action for their respective countries over the past week.

Most were in Nations League action while players were also competing in Africa Cup of Nations and CONCACAF qualifiers.

Thankfully for Steve Cooper, none of those in action were injured and the Foxes boss is likely to have a full squad to select from for the return of the Premier League this weekend.

The biggest success of the international break was Leicester academy graduate Kasey McAteer making his senior debut for the Republic of Ireland.

McAteer came off the bench in the Nations League games against England and Greece but couldn’t inspire them to victory as they lost 2-0 in both games.

Caleb Okoli was named in Italy’s senior squad for the first time but was an unused substitute in the defeat to France and win against Israel.

Three Leicester players were in action for Denmark as Jannik Vestergaard and Victor Kristiansen started and played the full 90 minutes in wins against Switzerland and Serbia, with Kristiansen providing an assist in the latter game. Mads Hermansen was an unused sub in both of the games.

Wout Faes started both games as Belgium beat Israel and then lost to France while Danny Ward started in Wales’ 0-0 draw with Turkey before being named as a sub in the 2-1 win at Montenegro.

In Africa, Abdul Fatawu started in both of Ghana’s games whereas Jordan Ayew started the 1-0 defeat against Angola before being introduced as a second-half sub in a 1-1 draw against Niger.

Wilfred Ndidi started both of Nigeria’s games, a 3-0 win against Benin and 0-0 draw away to Rwanda, and summer signing Bilal El Khannouss started in a 4-1 win against Gabon for Morocco. He was an unused sub in the win against Lesotho.

Bobby De-Cordova Reid started in both of Jamaica’s games against Cuba and Honduras, drawing the first before playing a role in a 201 win against the latter.

Will Alves started in England U20s draw against Turkey and was an unused sub in the win against Romania.

To round off, Michael Golding represented England’s U19s squad, featuring in their opening two games before sitting out of the defeat against Germany.

There are plenty of fixtures that involved Leicester players throughout the international break.
