Leicester City went head-to-head with West Ham United in a Premier League clash on Tuesday.

It was the first time Ruud van Nistelrooy stepped into the dugout following him replacing Steve Cooper last week.

Van Nistelrooy was in attendance for Brentford vs Leicester City over the weekend, watching on from the stands as his new side were thumped 4-1.

The Dutchman will have been hoping for a much better showing this time around but fans likely didn’t expect too much.

The Midlands outfit kicked off the day sat 16th in the Premier League table, with just one point separating them and Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Leicester had won just two games all season but West Ham have been in similarly poor, though not quite as bad, form.

The Hammers were 14th prior to kick-off at the King Power Stadium, picking up just four victories in 13.

Leicester City fan’s feelings on Ruud van Nistelrooy clear after West Ham United

A close game was expected on Tuesday evening and when all was said and done, Leicester came out on top.

Following the match, Leicester fans have taken to social media to give their true thoughts on Van Nistelrooy’s first game at the helm and it’s fair to say they are pretty happy.

One fan wrote: “The Ruud era has arrived!!!!!!!” with a second adding: “Trust me.. Let Van Nistelrooy cook! I see the tactics already.”

A third Leicester fan added: “Leicester leading with two goals, it’s like Ruud is actually good at this coaching thing.”

“Ruud is cooking,” another supporter wrote, with a fifth saying: “Ruud ball,” followed by a clapping and fire emoji.

A sixth Foxes supporter added: “Ruud – He’s a good coach. Quality.” While a seventh fan said: “Ruud first win for Leicester city coming home.. Ruud ball.”

Leicester City next five fixtures under Ruud van Nistelrooy

Following the West Ham tie, Leicester have a pretty mixed run of fixtures coming up.

They are next in action on Saturday afternoon when they host Brighton and Hove Albion in a 3pm kick-off.

This is followed by a tough away trip to St James’ Park for a meeting with Newcastle United on December 14th.

The hectic festive schedule then gets into full swing with matches against Wolves, Liverpool, and Manchester City on December 22nd, 26th, and 29th.

Given their end to December, it is imperative Leicester secure some points this weekend versus Brighton and most certainly against Wolves in just under two weeks’ time.
