Leicester City manager, Enzo Maresca has voiced his delight with his side’s performance as they smashed Preston North End.

Keirnan Dewsbury-Hall opened the scoring on 60 minutes following complete domination throughout the game.

The Foxes had 76% possession on the night and created over 1 xG more than North End on the night, who had been in good form.

Kelechi Iheanacho grabbed his third goal of the season to put the home side further in front.

It was the turn of Dewsbury-Hall once again who made it three in the 90th minute.

This result saw Marseca’s side take a two-point lead at the top of the Championship.

What has Enzo Maresca said?

Preston were third in the league coming into the game and represented a stern test.

On the night’s opponents, the Italian said: “I think it’s always complicated to win these kind of games, especially every three days.

“We probably struggled a bit more [in the] first half, but in the second half we were much better.”

It has been the best start to a Championship campaign a team has ever had but the manager isn’t getting ahead of himself.

On this Maresca said: “It’s still too early, but we are getting better against this type of team. It’s unbelievable, it’s huge.

“It’s something that I said to the players, it’s not normal. But we are in the right way, heading in the right direction.”

Dewsbury-Hall was on the scoresheet for the second time in as many games and his manager was full of praise.

On the midfielder, Maresca added: “He scored twice, I’m happy for him. But I’m especially happy for his behaviour because now it’s more calm, more patient.

“At the edge of the box, he is looking for his team-mates. He’s improving a lot.”

A positive team performance and another top result as Leicester continue to make history.
