Leicester City star Jamie Vardy has joined an elite Premier League list after his most recent achievement.

Leicester City lost out to high-flying Nottingham Forest as Chris Wood’s two goals in the second stanza made the difference.

It was a positive performance initially that saw Steve Cooper deploy a slightly alternative style of play to recent weeks, which was down to the introduction of Ricardo Pereira into the side.

Despite an early goal from Nottingham Forest, which saw Leicester City continue the trend of conceding first, they went into the interval level after a brilliant move set up by Harry Winks, only for Jamie Vardy to finish it off.

It was the fourth goal of the campaign for the Foxes attacker, and he managed to achieve an incredible fate as a result of the goal in the first half.

Jamie Vardy joins Teddy Sheringham in key Premier League stat after Leicester City win

The fact that Leicester City can still rely on Vardy at-the age-of-37 is simply breathtaking, and even more that he remains to be the club’s most dependable goalscorer.

The former England international has made a significant difference this season, and that has been emphasised by his performance against Nottingham Forest, where, per OptaJoe on X, he was able to join Teddy Sheringham, Ryan Giggs and Graham Alexander as the fourth oldest player to score in back-to-back Premier League appearances.

The ‘vintage’ foxes man has now scored four goals so far in the 2024/25 Premier League campaign.

Jamie Vardy has defied expectations after another breathtaking achievement

After getting promoted back to the Premier League under Enzo Maresca in the 2023/24 Championship campaign, it was uncertain whether Vardy was still able to lead the line for a Premier League side at the age-of-37.

He managed to notch a brilliant 18 goals in the second tier last season, and it looks like his record this season will not be too dissimilar after his lightning start to the campaign.

It could be safe to assume that if Leicester City do stay up this season, a lot of that will come down to the crucial goals scored by the Foxes talisman, and the strike against Nottingham Forest could also prove to be just that.

It is safe to say that Vardy has joined an elite list when looking at the fact that he is alongside Giggs and Sheringham in the list, but these are two players he belongs with when you look at his brilliant record at Leicester City and what he has won for the club.
