Joe Cole and Peter Crouch both in agreement about Leicester City star who ‘lost his rag’ vs Chelsea

Joe Cole and Peter Crouch covered the early Premier League kick-off between Leicester City and Chelsea live on TNT Sports.

Leicester City were aiming to secure some much-needed points when they welcomed Enzo Maresca back to their ground for the first time since his departure.

Chelsea headed into the game looking to close the gap on Liverpool and Manchester City at the top of the Premier League table.

The Foxes, on the other hand, needed a victory to ensure they did not end the weekend back in the relegation zone.

Steve Cooper made an unpopular selection call ahead of the game and the match itself got off to a nightmare start when Nicolas Jackson made it 1-0 after 15 minutes.

Leicester fans hit out at Wout Faes for his dismal defending in the build-up to the Jackson goal.

As the game wore on though, the home team did start to show signs of life, having a couple of decent chances right before the break.

Joe Cole and Peter Crouch can’t believe Wilfred Ndidi wasn’t sent off for Leicester City vs Chelsea

Kasey McAteer curled an effort just wide of Robert Sanchez’s goal after Leicester broke on the counter.

Then just before the break, Wilfred Ndidi had a huge chance to make it 1-1 when he shot from the edge of the box but he scuffed his effort wide.

Had the Nigerian scored, however, Chelsea fans would no doubt have been irate as Ndidi should have been sent off midway through the first half for a dangerous tackle on Cole Palmer.

Joe Cole and Peter Crouch discussed the incident while acting as pundits covering the game live on TNT Sport, with both agreeing he was lucky not to be sent off.

Cole said: “Absolutely, he’s been lucky indeed because that tackle there, if you see it from this angle, he can hurt him there.

“If VAR is ever going to step in from reckless endangerment of a player, it’s a terrible tackle.”

Peter Crouch said: “I agree with Joe, it’s dangerous, that can snap someone’s Achilles.”

Cole added: “If you look at it again here, he’s not even going for the ball, that’s an old-fashioned tackle. Watch where the ball is and watch were his right foot is ‘bang I’m going to do you’ and he tried to swipe the ball with his left football.”

“He lost his rag, he should be sent off.”

Leicester City dealt Harry Winks injury blow vs Chelsea

Had Ndidi been sent off, it would have given Cooper a major midfield problem going forward after they had already been dealt one blow during the match.

Harry Winks started in the midfield three versus Chelsea but was replaced after just 11 minutes by Oliver Skipp due to injury.

The extent of the Englishman’s injury is not yet known but he has been a key player for the Foxes in 2024/25 so far and losing him for an extended period would be a blow.

Leicester are next in action away to Brentford on Saturday, November 30th.
