All hope has been lost this season. Leicester City supporters are resigned to relegation, and it would take a miracle to save them, something Ruud van Nistelrooy is incapable of achieving.
As far as managerial appointments go, hiring Ruud van Nistelrooy has been a complete disaster. He replaced Steve Cooper in November and has only registered two league wins.
Leicester’s latest 2-0 defeat against West Ham saw the Foxes extend their woeful run to 11 defeats in their last 12 league matches.
Unsurprisingly, their horrific display at the London Stadium resulted in calls for Van Nistelrooy to be sacked, something the Dutchman couldn’t argue against.
But despite watching him create unwanted Premier League history in the loss against Brentford, Leicester’s owners want to keep Van Nistelrooy in charge.
Fans have been left baffled by that decision but not shocked, and now they’ve reacted to something outrageous their manager has said.

Ruud van Nistelrooy thinks Leicester City can stay in the Premier League
When asked about his side’s current situation, Van Nistelrooy was surprisingly optimistic about Leicester’s chances of staying up, despite collecting seven points from a possible 45 under him.
In an interview with Sky Sports, he said: “For me, I accepted the challenge with the preparations I took and knowing what I know now I would still have done it.
“I like the process, I like what we’re doing every day but of course, I know it’s also the now. It’s a results game, and I need results, and we all need results to stay in the job and to stay in the league.
“Everything has to be perfect for us to get some momentum going, and I believe we’re working towards that. I believe that there’s time we are still in a position where we are competing to stay in, and I believe by the end of May we can be there where we want to be.”
Leicester’s chances of avoiding relegation are incredibly slim, and many fans have penned humorous responses to Van Nistelrooy’s blind optimism.
“Delude Van Nistelrooy,” one supporter wrote while another replied: “I wanna moonwalk son…”
“A month or so ago I may have been motivated and believed what he was saying, but unfortunately now the words are not translating to anything on the pitch,” a third commented.
“Ruud Van Deludedroy,” someone else said while a sixth agreed: “Deluded.”
“With the way he sets up the team… guys deluded,” another continued.
Predicting Leicester City’s results in March and April
Not even the most optimistic of fans could see a way out of their current mess. Leicester are five points adrift of safety and head into March with a daunting fixture.
| Position | Team | Played MP | Won W | Drawn D | Lost L | For GF | Against GA | Diff GD | Points Pts |
| 17 | 27 | 6 | 4 | 17 | 37 | 56 | -19 | 22 | |
| 18 | 27 | 3 | 8 | 16 | 26 | 57 | -31 | 17 | |
| 19 | 27 | 4 | 5 | 18 | 25 | 61 | -36 | 17 | |
| 20 | 27 | 2 | 3 | 22 | 19 | 65 | -46 | 9 |
Leicester travel to Chelsea on Sunday before playing Manchester United, Manchester City, Newcastle United, Brighton and Liverpool in the space of six games.
Realistically, the chances of Van Nistelrooy taking points from those matches look incredibly slim, considering he’s only collected seven in 15 league matches.
So, with that being said, here are our score predictions for Leicester in March and April.
| Predicting Leicester City’s upcoming results in March and April |
| Chelsea 3-0 Leicester City |
| Leicester City 0-2 Manchester United |
| Manchester City 4-0 Leicester City |
| Leicester City 0-3 Newcastle United |
| Brighton 3-1 Leicester City |
| Leicester City 0-2 Liverpool |
| Wolves 1-1 Leicester City |
From their upcoming games, it’s hard to see where the wins are coming from. Perhaps they’ll surprise the league by finally turning their form around, but a bucketload of losses seems more likely.
