Leicester City have now won just one of their last four games, and many fans are losing patience with the ‘hard to watch’ style of Enzo Maresca.
After what was a record-breaking start to the Championship campaign, Leicester City have gone somewhat off the rails of late. One win in four games, including last night’s 1-1 draw with Sheffield Wednesday has allowed not only Ipswich Town to close the gap to one point, but also Leeds United to get back in striking distance.
The main concern for Enzo Maresca and Leicester fans will be the lack of goals being scored. Drawing blank in two defeats lately before just the one goal against a Sheffield Wednesday side who have conceded 30 all season.
After the poor display, Leicester fans have been full of criticism of Maresca and the style he is playing at the King Power.

Maresca not impressing Leicester fans
After the draw, multiple fans took to social media to vent over the football Leicester has been playing lately.
One fan wrote on X: “I know we’re top of the league and there’s an army of Leicester fans who seem to think it’s almost blasphemous to criticise us but, good God, that was hard to watch.”
A second emphatically agreed, predicting this style could see Leicester drop from the top: “We won’t be top of the league come the new year unless he changes his style, it’s slow, it’s ineffective, no service for the strikers and so predictable. Anyone who thinks the last 10 games have been good is watching different football to me. Still not convinced”
While a third added: “Very hard watch. Not impressed at all over the past few games. It’s just so slow.”
One fan even went as far as claiming Maresca isn’t the right man: “I’ve seen the truth. Enzo Maresca is not the answer.”
Another fan simply put: “Shocking performance again.”
Lastly, this fan argued that the performance was awful and a win would’ve papered over cracks: “For me, if we had won last night, it would have papered over the cracks of what I felt was a really poor performance, basic mistakes being made, no creativity & overall just a lack of urgency.”
Enzo Maresca needs to change it up
We all know that Maresca has these grand ideas of playing the same football as Pep Guardiola. But at Manchester City, they have players who can slice open any team and arguably the world’s best striker.
Not to mention the Championship sees most teams deploy a style which is aiming to completely nullify creativity. It seems Maresca has been figured out and Leicester look so poor when against low-blocks and almost out of ideas.
Maresca needs to add some attacking emphasis to this team, with the possession football clearly not working right now, get the players playing a bit quicker and direct and we will score goals.
