The March international break is done at last, with Leicester City back in Premier League action next week.

Seven Foxes were called up for international duty as FIFA World Cup qualifiers and UEFA Nations League play-off matches took place this month, with a number of Leicester players impressing during the break for their national teams.

One player who struggled, though, was Wilfred Ndidi, with Nigeria fans critical of the Leicester midfielder after missing a great chance to secure the Super Eagles a big win in World Cup qualifying against African minnows Zimbabwe.

And Ndidi has now taken to social media to address the criticism that has been aimed at him during the international break.

Wilfred Ndidi addresses Nigeria fans after miss vs Zimbabwe

Taking to his official Instagram account, Ndidi addressed Nigeria fans who have criticised the midfielder since Tuesday’s draw in Uyo, with the Leicester man posting: “Please make una no vex for goal wey I miss. Nobody perfect for him job.”

With Galatasaray interested in signing Ndidi, there will be plenty of speculation surrounding the 28-year-old’s future heading into the summer transfer window, where the midfielder could be one of many big-name Leicester players to depart the King Power Stadium.

And criticism from Nigeria fans is the last thing Ndidi needed, with the problem growing so large that the former KRC Genk star saw it fit to address what happened over the international break with the Super Eagles.

Indeed, Ndidi will be feeling the pressure to perform for Leicester in the final nine Premier League games of the season, where the midfielder will want to give it his all to secure a move away from the Foxes heading into the summer.

How has Wilfred Ndidi performed for Leicester City this season?

Ndidi has endured a turbulent few weeks with speculation surrounding his future and Nigeria fans now coming for the Leicester man after a poor moment on international duty, where the African giants could now miss out on qualifying for the 2026 World Cup.

Yet, up until now, the midfielder has been one of the few strong performers for the Foxes, with Ndidi impressing for Leicester against Arsenal last month despite the East Midlands side since again ending up on the losing side.

With Leicester’s hopes of Premier League safety looking thin, Ndidi will be focused on ending the season as strong as possible, with this year looking to be the Nigerian’s last with the Foxes after six years with the club.
