Leicester City’s chances of avoiding relegation to the Championship this season have been rated.

The Foxes’ number one priority this season is undoubtedly looking to survive in the Premier League following their successful 2023/24 Championship promotion under Enzo Maresca.

Whilst Leicester City currently sit in a respectable 15th position in the Premier League table, Steve Cooper’s side has got off to a fairly unsatisfactory start in regards to points total and performances on the pitch, with them currently sitting just two points ahead of Southampton in 18th.

Cooper’s side is yet to get their first win of the 2024/25 campaign, and the recent lengthy exclusion of Ricardo Pereira from league games is one of the many questionable choices made by the manager up until this point.

Leicester City will be hoping to overturn their poor start to the campaign and climb towards securing safety as the season progresses, however current predictions suggest that it may be a tricky task for the Foxes.

Leicester City predicted 19th place finish in the Premier League

Whilst the optimism may not be tangible at this moment, Leicester City fans will be hoping that their side can clinch survival in the Premier League come the end of the season.

However, per Opta Analyst, Leicester City are predicted to finish the 2024/25 Premier League season in 19th, seeing them relegated with fellow promoted sides Ipswich Town and Southampton.

They have been predicted to finish on an expected 32.42 points, giving them over 60% chance of getting relegated this campaign.

A relegation scrap almost certainly looks to be on the cards, with there being a 0.01% chance that Leicester City even reach the Europa League this season.

The Foxes must act proactively to put end to poor start or predictions will ring true

There is no surprise to see the Foxes predicted to finish in the lower echelons of the league table following their start to the 2024/25 Premier League campaign, and there needs to be some proactive decisions made at the club to prevent a rot.

Whilst it would be incredibly early to confirm that Cooper was simply not up for the job, some decisions made by the Leicester boss do seem on the bizarre side, and there is every likelihood that the current tactical et up is in fact having an impact on the morale of the dressing room, as seen by some individual performances and the results on display.

Another relegation would simply be catastrophic this season for the club, and there must be serious conversations held over whether Cooper is in fact the man to lead them to a successful season.

It could be a case of Leicester having a clearer picture of their season ahead in three games time, and if they fall to defeats to Bournemouth and Southampton, alarm bells should really start ringing.
