Leicester City News can exclusively reveal Ruud van Nistelrooy’s future is becoming increasingly uncertain with the former Manchester United forward growing ‘frustrated’ by broken promises from the club’s hierarchy.

The Foxes announced Ruud van Nistelrooy would replace Steve Cooper as Leicester City boss in November after the former Nottingham Forest manager secured just two wins from his opening 12 Premier League games in the King Power dugout.

The Dutchman got off to an excellent start in the Midlands, guiding his new team to a 3-1 victory over West Ham United.

This was followed by a 2-2 draw with Brighton and Hove Albion but since that stalemate, it’s been nothing but disappointment for fans.

A 2-0 defeat to Fulham last weekend means the Foxes have now lost seven games on the spin in the Premier League, sitting 19th with 22 games played.

Leicester City owner stance on sacking Ruud van Nistelrooy

Speculation Van Nistelrooy could be sacked has begun to mount after Leicester’s last outing.

A tough meeting with Tottenham Hotspur awaits this weekend before a crunch clash against Everton on February 1st.

At present, it looks as though the 48-year-old is going to be in charge for both of those games.

Leicester City News have spoken exclusively to transfer expert Graeme Bailey for an update on Ruud’s future.

And he told us while fans have turned, the Leicester hierarchy have not done so. Bailey also detailed how the ex-Manchester United star is ‘frustrated’ at the club.

He said: “Things are not going well at Leicester and I am told that whilst the fans have turned on Ruud van Nistelrooy, the hierarchy have not quite done the same.

“However, Van Nistelrooy is frustrated – he believes that certain things he was told when he came in have not materialised.

“It is far from certain that he sees out this campaign, there are issues.”

Ruud van Nistelrooy comments on his Leicester City future

Leicester can still mount a survival push this term, only sitting two points behind 17th place going into the next round of games.

Whether or not Van Nistelrooy is the man to make that happen remains to be seen, even if more players are signed in January.

Ahead of Tottenham, Ruud was quizzed on his Leicester future but gave a rather coy response.

He said: “I’m focused on getting this team out of the situation we’re in. That’s my only concern. I’m working with everybody involved at Leicester to get the best out of the squad.”
