With Ghana winning in their AFCON Qualifier, now means that when the tournament comes round Leicester City will potentially be without four players.

Abdul Fatawu’s Ghana completed their Africa Cup of Nations qualification with a 2-1 win over Central African Republic.

The winger was an unused substitute in the must win game.

Mohammed Kudus equalised for the Ghanaians after going 1-0 down to Louis Mafouta after just 25 minutes.

Bournemouth’s Antoine Semenyo set up Ernest Nuamah for the winner with just two minutes left in the game.

What does AFCON mean for Leicester City?

With several African internationals within the Leicester squad, Enzo Maresca could be without four players for a month.

Nigeria secured their place at AFCON after a 3-2 win over Sierra Leone, gifting them top place in their group.

Kelechi Iheanacho played a part as he scored in the 95th minute to secure a 3-2 win.

The striker as well as Wilfred Ndidi would be likely to depart for the tournament in Ivory Coast.

With Patson Daka not departing the club, he is now part of the squad for the season.

Zambia have also qualified for AFCON and as a result that will be four players missing for a period of the season.

A month without these players won’t be the end of the world but definitely frustrating for Maresca to deal with.
