Leicester have been handed a boost in their search for a new striker with Swansea set to sign a potential Joel Piroe replacement.
23-year-old Dutch striker Joel Piroe has been on the radar of multiple clubs after scoring 19 goals last season for Swansea City. This coming after a 22 goal campaign two seasons ago.
Thus giving him a remarkable 41 goals over the past two seasons, in an often poor Swansea side, he could score more in a thriving Leicester team.
The forward has attracted interest from multiple English clubs and also from Atalanta in Serie A, as they search for a Rasmus Hojlund replacement, according to WalesOnline.

Despite this City are thought to be the favourites to secure his signature, having been in contact with his agent over the past week after stepping up interest.
A move is incredibly likely, given Swansea boss, Michael Duff admitted there is a chance he goes, due to his contract having one year left.
WalesOnline reported that Duff said, “I understand he’s the big name at the club and only has a year left on his contract. There will be plans in place in terms of the way we play if he stays, and plans for if he goes.”
Boost in race for Piroe
Leicester appear to have been handed a boost in their chase for the prolific striker, as it has been reported that Swansea are set to sign Jerry Yates from Blackpool according to the BBC.
Yates is a striker and would therefore represent a direct replacement should the move be completed. Yates had scored 15 Championship goals last season for Blackpool but has been set to move as Blackpool couldn’t avoid relegation.
This move seems to be Swansea pre-planning and replacing their star man before his seemingly inevitable departure.
This is good news for The Foxes, given their status as favourites for the Dutchman’s signature. Piroe could well be Enzo Maresca’s next incoming as he looks to rebuild his team.
