Leicester City midfielder Hamza Choudhury has signed a new contract, which keeps him at the club until 2027.
Choudhury’s original contract was set to expire at the end of this season, but he has now extended his deal by adding on another three years.
A product of Leicester’s academy, the defensive midfielder has made over 100 appearances for the club since making his debut in 2017, coming on as a substitute in a 2-0 win over Liverpool in the third round of the EFL Cup.
He joined the club at the age of seven, and rose through the ranks to reach the senior team, all the way up to captaining the side in this month’s win over Norwich City.
The 25-year-old has also represented England at Under-21 level, and has spent time out on loan away from the club with Burton Albion and Watford, who he was with last season.
He was also an important part in the Leicester side that won both the FA Cup and the Community Shield in 2021. He was reportedly of interest to Championship rivals Southampton earlier in the summer.
This season he has emerged as a key player for manager Enzo Maresca, making an appearance in five games for the Foxes in the Championship this season, as they sit top of the table.
Hamza Choudhury: ‘It’s an amazing feeling’

Speaking to the club website, Choudhury said: “It’s an amazing feeling for me and my family. This is my home. I’ve obviously spent the majority of my life here around the same people in the same environment. I’m looking forward to cracking on now and hopefully helping the team get back to the Premier League. It’s my home. To be staying here for another four years is exactly what I want.”
