Leicester City are still looking to strengthen their attacking options as we reach transfer deadline day and Everton youngster Tom Cannon is of interest.
The Foxes are willing to pay £5million for Cannon’s services according to Alan Nixon, topping the offer of fellow Championship side Middlesbrough.
Enzo Maresca’s men are late to the race for the Toffees striker with his future being the topic of conversation all summer long amid second tier interest for both loan and permanent deals, but with both Kelechi Iheanacho and Patson Daka on the possible departures list the Foxes must act fast to secure replacements.

Nixon claims that ‘half of the division’ have attempted to lure Cannon to their side, so it would be some coup if the Foxes are to land the Republic of Ireland youth international.
Leicester have added three new faces to their forward department this summer in the form of Stephy Mavididi, who joined permanently, and on loan pair Issahaku Fatawu and Yunus Akgün from Sporting CP and Galatasaray respectively.
A striker is yet to join the fold, but that may now change should Cannon make the King Power switch.
Whilst on loan at Preston North End last season, the 20-year-old made 21 appearances in which he scored eight times and provided one assist. The Lilywhites had hoped to see him return, but that now looks highly unlikely.
Is Cannon the missing link?
Cannon has made four Premier League appearances in his career so far, three of which came last season, his most recent being a very late cameo in Everton’s 1-0 defeat to Wolves this campaign.
His track record for the Toffees’ academy set-up is what catches the eye, however, following 51 goals in 97 appearances for their Under-21s and Under-18s combined.
A highly sought after prospect, the youngster would currently provide a solid option up top for the Foxes whilst also providing longevity. The opportunity to learn from Jamie Vardy is bound to be hard to pass up, so Cannon may well become signing number nine for Maresca’s squad this summer.
