Leicester City are targeting Sporting Lisbon winger Abdul Fatawu Issahaku with a loan preferred by the Foxes.
The Foxes had been linked to Yunus Akgun but a move is slowing down.
Issahaku started his senior career with Steadfast in Ghana where he spent three years.
In that time he played 27 games and scored 20 goals.
The Ghanian was included in a list of top young talent called ‘Next Generation 2021’ by The Guardian. He was described as ‘the best African prospect of his generation’.
In April 2022, Sporting Lisbon signed the winger having a release clause of £60 million entered into his contract.

In spite of this move, he had trained with Liverpool for two months before his move to Portugal.
He has made six appearances for the Sporting first team, but has found more of a home in the B team where he has played 13 times.
At just 19-years old, he has already made 14 appearances for the Ghana national team.
Should Leicester City sign Abdul Fatawu Issahaku?
He is a right winger and loves to cut in off the right and curl a shot into the far post.
A skilful and tricky winger he is a difficult player for opposition full backs to stop as he ghosts past them with ease.
He loves to drive into the box off the wing, using his close control and skill to create chances for himself and his teammates.
With Wanya Marcal already at the club and starting games at 19-years old, any winger option should be more experienced than him.
Although Issahaku would be an exciting signing and would definitely get fans off their seats, he may not be what the Foxes need right now.
On loan he could be a good signing and a risk free option.
If there is a £14 million buy obligation, that may be too much and it would represent a sizable risk.
