Leicester City winger Kasey McAteer has starred for the Foxes this term, featuring in the first team consistently since the arrival of manager Enzo Maresca.
McAteer currently has made seven appearances in the Championship so far this season, scoring four goals from the wings.
The 21-year-old has been out on the sidelines with a hamstring injury for a few weeks and is expected to be back at the end of the month.
One thing he is yet to sort out though is his international allegiance, but that looks to be soon coming to a close.
Leicester star set to switch international allegiance

According to the Irish Independent, McAteer is set to switch his international allegiance to the Republic of Ireland.
Ireland manager Stephen Kenny had said after Monday night’s 4-0 win over Gibraltar that they are looking to get a winger from the Championship to declare for Ireland, saying: “We’ve another winger due to declare. I’m not sure the paperwork is done yet. He’s playing in the Championship.”
That winger now looks set to be McAteer.
Ireland move great for McAteer
Playing for Ireland would be a good move for McAteer’s career.
Playing regularly internationally would be a great move for his career, allowing him to gain experience against higher level opposition.
The only downside is that he would then be more susceptible to injuries, which would obviously not be good for Leicester should he join up with the Ireland squad.
McAteer has spent parts of the last two season out on loan in League Two. He spent the second half of 21/22 on loan at Forest Green, making nine appearances as they won League Two.
He then joined AFC Wimbledon for second half of 22/23, where he was a regular making 18 appearances for the Dons, scoring once.
